JD Benton

JD Benton has a versatile practice in civil litigation that encompasses all aspects of law including transactional, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, oil and gas law, entity formation and structuring, estate planning, mineral and royalty disputes, and debt collection among many others. JD has collected more than 8 million dollars for his clients in his career as an attorney practicing in Midland. While he does practice in a wide range of areas, the majority of his focus is representing small operators and service companies in the oil and gas sector across the Permian Basin. As an advocate and counselor, JD’s goal is simple – to help his clients solve their problems in the most practical and effective way possible. When his clients ask for guidance, he gives it to them. When his clients want to go to court, he meets them at the courthouse steps.

JD Benton is a West Texas native growing up here in Midland. After graduating from Midland Lee, he attended Texas Tech University where he double majored in Finance and Economics graduating with Honors. He then attended Florida State University College of Law for his Juris Doctorate where he also graduated with Honors. He finally made it back home to Midland where he met his wonderful wife, Shannon, who is also a Midland native. When JD is not at the office, you will find him playing golf, walking his two dogs around his neighborhood, being active in Redeemer Church, or spending time with his family.
